Our Vision
Transforming Early Childhood Education in India.
EarlySpark is devoted to creating optimal learning environments for young children. We know that quality early childhood education has lingering lifelong impacts on academic skills and social-emotional development. We create classroom experiences that promote confidence, independence and growth in the community. We want to spark problem solving abilities in children that can last for lifetime.
Why is this Important?
EarlySpark works with children in the formative years. We understand how critical this time is in a child’s life. Having a positive experience in these years has positive impacts on the child’s love for learning and overall self-confidence. Our whole child approach means that we never lose sight of the fact that the child does not exist in isolation.
We strive to impact the life of the child, the teachers, and the families. By creating co-learning experiences we simultaneously create learning experiences for everybody within the child’s ecosystem.
Curriculum
EarlySpark's curriculum is designed by Early Childhood Education experts to simultaneously address growth in English language development, social emotional learning and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math).
Our curriculum emphasizes communication, critical thinking, and creativity. It provides multiple opportunities for children to express their ideas, make connections and share their thoughts both verbally and artistically. We think about the whole child and understand that working with children effectively means co-educating parents and preparing teachers.
Our Program
We partner with existing schools and train local teachers to create scalable and sustainable impact:
Schools first must commit to no longer using corporal punishment in order to join the program
The school’s teachers participate in a 3-week intensive training course to learn about child development, teaching techniques, STEAM, CPR and first aid training
EarlySpark provides localized teaching materials and resources to the school
EarlySpark educators model and coach the teachers in their schools for a 3 month period. Teachers conduct lessons in English, in front of the EarlySpark educators and improve their technique through continuous feedback
EarlySpark launches a “Mother’s Group” at each school to provide resources and training to parents at the school to help parents with healthy choices, body autonomy (to reduce the chance of abuse), and the importance of attending school
EarlySpark leaves the school and monitors the teachers and students afterwards
EarlySpark plans to provide additional quarterly training for schools who have completed the initial program to provide ongoing support
In 2019, EarlySpark launched a successful pilot. Check out our Impact to date, and join us on our journey to help improve the lives of thousands of Indian children.
